Apple Switches to Intel
January 11th, 2006 by MarkThe rumors are true! Apple has just released a new intel-based iMac. According to Apple, the new iMacs to begin shipping on Tuesday are based on Intel Core Duo microchips and are “two to three times faster” than current iMacs.
Also on the upside for Apple, it’s the fastest growing of the top five computer vendors. Its overall share in the PC market is now up to 4%. The question is, will the move to Intel cause them to gain or lose market share?
See Clyde’s comment: In an amazing coincidence, APPL’s stock closed at a price of $80.86 per share.
