It sounds like you have undertaken a great project.  Two thoughts for you (based on your posting):  1) I assume you have RAID storage configuration in your computer or have a NAS device; either will be very helpful as you know from your background in IT.  There is never a good time for a HD to fail.  :-) ;  2) It is good to remember one can burn a tremendous amount of time "fine tuning" documents, reports, and presentations and NOT have the result visible to the end user.  You have to remember to reach the point where the material is "Perfect Enough" and move on to projects where your time is of more value.
