Is the (Reuters) right at the beginning of the block-quote insufficient attribution? In any case, I added "via Reuters" right after my link to the Washington Post article.

I think Italy were let down big time by De Rossi, that elbow was vicious and he even pleaded his innocence on the field after he was red carded. Italy clearly had the classier team, but as has happened a lot in recent history they got bogged down and couldn't keep their emotions in check. America played very well, especially the first 20-30 mins or so. They were energetic and set up some decent chances. They aren't really clinical enough in the final third of the pitch though. Look at Italy, they get pushed back a lot at the start of the game, then had one good chance and scored. When the US are like that as well they can do even better. Dont get me wrong, the US team has come a long way. They weren't anywhere in football terms before the 1994 world cup, and in the last ten years or so have vastly improved. The next game against Ghana isn't gonna be easy, Ghana are a good team with some good players. They are fast and powerful, if sometimes a little naive in defence. Should be an interesting game!! And of course I have to say "come on England"; we will steadily improve as the tournament goes on :)
