I've concluded that the standard here is two degrees of separation rather than six. It would be an interesting experiment to pick a random (not famous/notorious) foreigner and see <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small_world_experiment" rel="nofollow">how many steps it takes</a> to get a letter back to that person by handing it off to other foreigners on the street!
