Someone's been hitting my site with a DOS attack. No idea why, but I've been talking about it with my host. They've blocked the offending IP, and I guess we'll see if that takes care of it.

I've been noticing some performance issues with toshuo.com today. Have you seen these as well? Is this a problem with DreamHost, or something else?

Yeah. Of course I think Dream Host is a good deal; that's why I'm hosting my sites with them. They've also had rails support for a long time. One thing that steered me away from Go Daddy is that there's been a lot of news on Reddit about people who have had their sites shut down by them due to a variety of reasons. With something like the IEEE Security in Storage Workgroup, though, I doubt you'd have those problems.

I'm looking into some web hosting for the IEEE Security in Storage Workgroup (i.e. IEEE P1619.x) and was thinking about using something like GoDaddy. I would like to get some Ruby on Rails, though, to give it a spin. Is Dream Host a better deal than GoDaddy?
