Fez Looks Awesome
February 24th, 2008 by MarkFrom the first time I played Super Mario Bros., I’ve always loved platform games. Unfortunately, the genre has been pretty dead ever since Gex. Fez, from Montreal-based start-up Kokoromi, looks ready to change that. The game is so creative that words just don’t do it justice.

Whoa! That looks so cool!
The English, though…they need a better translator.

If they dare touch a word of the English, I will never buy this game.

Amazing video! Way better than the teaser they posted on their own site’s blog…

I’m an unpaid shill for the game at this point, but you should really try Psychonauts if you haven’t yet. The game is a platformer along the lines of Mario 64, but with a fantastic story.
It’s impossible to describe the plot (meat circus? city of fish?), but the game makes sense once you’re playing it and has great writing too (probably the only platformer I’ve ever played where I’ve gone out of my way to interact with characters just to see what they’d have to say). Some of the levels are hilarious/genius, and there are minor elements pulled from the strategy/adventure genre. Playstation controls aren’t as responsive as on the XBox, but still worth playing.
