My only memory of Hong Kong is of all the tall, white skyscrapers that almost look like dominoes. I've only flown through, so I don't know the city.

When I went to Vancouver last September, the first think I thought was that it looked a lot like Hong Kong. Apparently, there's a fair bit of Asian influence there.

I get the pleasure of dealing with TSA about once a month on average. They really don't seem any different than the ones before. Or maybe it's that they can sense the seasoned business traveler and just stay out of their way.

Now I realized that there is such expression. Initially when I saw it I recollected my old English tutorial saying that you can only "ride" a horse or a bicycle.

But still... the phrase "I rode a bus" sounds kind of weird. It gives an impression that "I was driving a bus myself". Funny. (I am not picking, I am just avid learner of English language:-)

When I was in HK it was the same thing. Anyone who couldn't communicate with you in English could handle Mandarin. Made me very glad not to have studied Cantonese.
