This is not a standard public job board. The only jobs I post on this page are those with people I personally know and can vouch for. Any jobs I have to offer myself go up here as well. Resumes can be sent to doubtingtoshuo@gmail.com.

Pagewood English

This job is an opening at my school. It’s a fairly new school, and it’s growing rapidly. This is an ideal position for a teacher who already has some experience at an HFRB and is looking for school that offers long term advancement opportunities. There is a great deal of preparation work involved and my standards are high, but the compensation package is the best in the city. You should already speak Chinese reasonably well, but we can teach you classroom-specific phrases if necessary. The single biggest requirement to do this job well is a genuine concern for the students’ education.

Tomcat English

My old boss, William, is currently looking for an English teacher at his Tomcat school. I can say from personal experience that William is a good boss and a great guy. His school doesn’t have huge student numbers, so it doesn’t pay as much as some of the other HFRBs, but outside of class prep work and stress levels are also much lower. I think it’s pretty much an ideal job for somebody learning Chinese. My old co-worker Blake studied at Shida at the same time and made it all the way up through their level 7 classes and beyond. Later, he got a job with a magazine, and William helped him make the transition. My other co-worker, Barry, has been at Tomcat for ages and his Chinese is phenomenal. He’s finally moving on to other things, and if you take this position, you’d be taking Barry’s classes.
