After living here for over three years, there’s still a commonly used Chinese word I just can’t bring myself to say: 拜拜
I know the word isn’t really pronounced as a 4th tone. I hear it inflected so many ways, I just gave up and left it with its original tones in the pop-up.
It seems like even I can’t figure what tone to place either. lol
You can say 掰掰(bai bai, both 1st tone)as well. Remember my remarks for my first Chinese Lesoon? It’s just EVERYWHERE!!
I hate this too 🙂 !
